I thought that I read somewhere that it also works with Ranged Heavy checks but I can´t find the source?

Well, when I look at Rich’s talent sheets, it specifically says “Ranged (Light).”
I can’t refer to the book since I don’t have it, but if the long text says “Ranged (Light),” then that’s the way to go.

Not that there is anything beyond an arbitrary ruling making this so. Not sure of any in-Universe reason that this works with pistols and thrown grenades but not rifles.
Rules As Written are indeed Ranged (Light) only. But certainly not anything that can’t be house-ruled if you want!
