Hello SWRPG Community! HAPPY MAY THE FOURTH!
Before we start, I just wanted to remind the community that our development Discord can be found HERE
And our Master Development Documentation can be found HERE
Last time you saw us, we had just finished the Smuggler Review, finalizing our review series of the Edge of the Empire reSpecialized. It was our largest review-style update since the project’s inception, and foe a short month, that was a record we were happy to let rest…until today.
Today, we are releasing with 1 Career, 2 Signature Abilities, 7 Specializations, and 8 Force Powers. And a mynock in a wrosshyrrr tree, apparently. This has been the most blistering pace, and yet, we can’t seem to slow down! We’re loving it! And to commemorate this wonderful Maul: Shadow Lord, we decided to give you all a Career based on the iconic archetypes born of all the diverse criminal enterprises in Star Wars’s vast lore.
The first thing I want to mention is the Force & Destiny Primer. This line of the SWRPG is having the most structural changes from the jump, and we explain our process in the primer. Please check it out. Secondly, I want to shout out Ebak, our Folio Designer, or should I say “head designer of Detective!” This spec was 100% his brainchild, and I just helped for once!
I’m going to cheat a little bit this release and talk about two favorites. My favorite Force Power this go-round is definitely Enhance. Quite a few structural changes were necessary, but it feels like such a strong “action hero” shaped power, complete with an action surge. Particularly proud of that. As for Syndicate, it’s hard to choose a favorite. I really love the “mook-spawning” Shadow Lord, which is a fun nod to this new show. Spice Dealer is a very fun mix between a spice addict, spice dealer, and spice maker. And we don’t see that side in SWRPG very often.
Last thing before the patch notes: RPGSessions has just release “Content Kits’“, which will allow all of the reSpecialized project’s work be easily importable to all users, and it will be constantly updated with talent updates. Currently, due to the timing of the feature release, we only have the reSpecialized Force powers from this update included, but as those are the only things that are added “to” character sheets rather than being a template themselves, this is a great advancement in our ability to deliver this content directly to you good people.
