But nothing in terms of a forum to post our thoughts on or anything {or even running games}

Well we do have this one…

Well they specified that no forum. So I guess that’s the best we get, at least we have an answer. And this forum (and probably the 2 others) will still operate.
Hopefully the US reprints are going to come to Europe too

It would be nice if Edge also had a process for getting the game designers to answer questions about the rules.

But I’m not holding my breath for that … :frowning:

I agree with that. But I hope just to get information about SWRPG in general from Edge.

Somebody posted an answer dated 09/05/2021 in the Dev Answered Questions topic.

Yeah, I did wonder how they got an answer in May, when I thought that all support had been closed down at the end of January.

Maybe it’s the designers/developers clearing a backlog of questions?

Checks FFG website

Huh. FFG’s Rules Question Form still lists the EotE, AoR, and FaD product lines. I wonder how long that will last, particularly if the SW designers start working for Edge. Or maybe the SW designers will end up freelancing for both Edge and FFG, designing for the former and answering questions for the latter? Unless they really love their games, I doubt that there’s much motivation to answer questions for free.

I believe that uses the American dating style, so it’d be September.

It may be that they’ve already been moved to Edge, and FFG is just rerouting the emails to them. So you’re asking FFG, but the question is going to Edge.

@tank0625, do you have anything to add to this or clarify?

Yes. The answer was received on Sept. 6th from FFG. I sent the question on Sept. 5th from their website. Under the Customer Service tab and Rules Questions tab.

Additionally, I have since sent another question about a week ago and haven’t heard anything from them. So I’m not sure if I got lucky on the first question or they are still answering questions.

I wish I could be more helpful.

Update

I just received the second question answer and I just posted it to the FFG answered question section. It was answer by Edge studio.

So, yeah…sounds like corporate synergy at work. I imagine, even if the form is on FFG’s site, since it’s all Asmodee, automation in the email submission system routes questions flagged as RPG-related to a queue in Edge’s email system. (Says someone who, as part of his daily work duties, makes sure the emails in his company’s email support queues are in the right queue, and the automation didn’t, for example, send an email for European support to us here in the US. )

Okay, so there’s definitely life in the customer support/rules answers side of things! That’s good to hear.

(Although they need to clean up their terminology a bit: a talent is not a skill.)

Great to hear, hopefully they set up some English communication channels too.

I agree it would be nice to have it in English.

Yeah. Not to be That Guy ™, but - for example - their very specifically named “Edge Studio (English)” Twitter account has some pretty glaring grammar, syntax, and spelling errors in their posts. I mean, I get that it’s staffed by the Edge team in Europe, but it’s not a good look for a professional business account.

And, the other shoe drops.

I’m shocked…shocked, I say! Who could have possibly looked at the moves of 2020/21 - development team layoffs at FFG and AMG plus corporate restructuring to appear leaner and more profitable - and possibly foreseen this?

Only anyone paying attention.

Wow that is very interesting. I’m wondering how this will effect SWRPG. I hoping this is good news.
